When: Friday, April 26th 6:00- 9:00 pm; Saturday, April 27th 9:00 –

Course Instructors: Aubrey Sampson, Dave McDowell
Course Description: Many people list speaking in front of others as
their greatest fear—even greater than death, and yet, in our everyday
communication, all of us are public speakers in some way. This course
will focus on communication skills, techniques and tools for dynamic
public speaking, and will include a segment for those interested in
preaching/teaching/devotional delivery. There will be a practical
speaking/preaching lab attached to this course as well.
Course Objectives:
1. To provide basic information and techniques that will help the
student gain greater facility and to become more comfortable in
their public speaking.
2. To provide a lively and interactive environment that will
encourage a little more risk-taking in the area of public speaking
by having fun together.
3. To provide some additional practical help and experience in the
area of preaching for those who are interested.
Course Expectations:
1. To read the text “Purpose Filled Presentations: How Any
Christian Can Communicate More Effectively To Anybody,
Anytime, Anywhere” by Tony Jeary, and other assigned
materials.
2. To participate actively in the class.
3. To allow yourself the enjoyment of overcoming the limitations
imposed by the fear of public speaking, and quite possibly to
allow God to uncover a gift.
Cost: $35.00, which includes all course materials
