Assisted with liaison activity related to the policy environment for teacher

The Small Schools Project (2004)

interviews) on school reform processes in purposefully small high

The Implementation of I-728, Research Assistant (2002-2003)
 Compiled and analyzed data for an OSPI-sponsored study on the use of
I-728 funds in 2001-02.
 Arranged and conducted interviews with district staff at case study
sites.
 Composed case study reports based on data collected from site visits.

1997-1998
Developed a set of four “Fast Response” online surveys for
Washington state teachers.
Assisted with statistical analyses of large datasets.
Conducted ongoing data analysis and categorized quantitative and
qualitative data on statewide conditions of teaching.

Worked collaboratively as a member of the research team.
Middle School French and Social Studies Teacher
 Led all students to top twentieth percentile in National French Exam.
 Developed and directed the monthly SEED (Seeking Educational
Equity and Diversity) professional development seminars for faculty,
staff and administration.
 Coordinated the Back-to-Back French Exchange for the fifth and sixth
grades.
 Created the school’s first student-centered website for further
enrichment in French studies.
United States Peace Corps, Niang M’Boul, Mauritania, West Africa

Volunteer
 Lived and worked with recently returned Hal Pulaar refugees.
 Assisted and advised local farmers and several women’s cooperatives
on new techniques of constructing tree nurseries in their native
languages, Pulaar and French.
 Authored grant proposals, in English and French, to the United
Nations, US Government, and stateside non-profit organizations to
request funds for the agricultural reconstruction of the village.
