A Mystery Book Project
Due Date: Friday, June 1, 2007
Directions:
 You will chose a Mystery book of your choice and have it approved by Ms. Cole. You
must have your book approved by Wednesday, May 9th.
 Read your book and choose a project that would compliment your book the best!
Project Choices
1. Shoebox Diorama – using a shoebox, construct a scene from the book you read.
Attach a 1-2 paragraph explanation of the scene to your diorama.
2. Book Jacket – make a book jacket for the book you read. The jacket must have the
following components:
COVER
 Title
 Author
 Publishing company
 Illustration (the illustration must relate to an important part of the book)
INSIDE FLAPS
 Write a description of the book (do not tell the ending!!). The description
should highlight areas of the book that would make someone want to read it.
3. Wanted Poster – make a “wanted” poster for a character in the book you
read. Include the following:
~ drawing of the character
~ a physical description of the character and other information about
the character that you think is important
~ The character’s crime(s) that were committed in the book
~ the reward offered for the capture of the character
