presenters that are mainly for my benefit)
This list will be updated regularly, and eventually a program will be available.

- Liv Thorstensson - "Empowering Women in Adult ESL Classes: A Freirian
Approach" (research in progress)
- Nancy Pfingstag - "New Research Trends in ESL Writing: Implications
for the Classroom."
- Meriam Brown - grammatical structures of academic writing
- Lisa Martin - findings from my master's project
- Karin Abell - possibly something, such as - Multiple Variables in ESL
classes (especially open enrollment and multi-levels) or LearnerCentered Idioms
- Lisa Russell-Pinson & Boyd Davis - "Corpora and Concordancing for
English for Academic Purposes" - prefers afternoon time slot
- Jennifer Girard - possibly lead a discussion group on working with
pre-literate learners
- Marcia Ryskamp - "Grammar Goes to the Movies" - how to use movies
(real, existing movies on videos) for teaching grammar (2 hour
presentation) - will need a VCR with remote (maybe last time slot is
best)
- Lara Eller - something, open to various possibilities
- Brendan - a "how-to" presentation on the audio-kinesthetic approach
to teaching languages
- Karen Youngman - COVERING THE BASICS: A suggested course overview
for teaching essential life skills to beginning ESL students - prefers
late am or after lunch
- Peter MacMonagle - "I Do Not Speak Gibberish: Inclusive Literacy
Perspectives for SE Asians in the American Workplace" - will use Power
Point - needs afternoon schedule (teaches 8-10am on Sat)
- Greg Walters - "Small Talk: Constructing a Model to Help Students

"Transitioning Students from Adult ESL to Academic ESL" (dry run of
TESOL 2005 discussion group)
- Lara Beninca and Karen Stanley - "From Grammar Class to Grammar Use"
(dry run of TESOL 2005 presentation)
- Edith Valladares - discussion group on "Transitioning Students from
Academic ESL to 'Regular' Curriculum Classes"
- Marianne Palafox, Rachel Humphries, and Erin Collins - helping
international (NNSs of English) discover useful learning strategies
- Denise Alvarez - either "Using Photographs as Writing Prompts" *or*
feedback techniques to use with writing students
