Continental Automotive Changchun Opens
Expansion of Plant I
 Investment of 54 million RMB with a building area of 8,300 sqm
 More store space and larger production capacity
 A significant step for ensuring further growth in the Chinese market
Changchun, China, December 5, 2013. Continental, a leading international automotive
supplier, today celebrates the official opening of the expansion of its first plant in Changchun
Economic and Technological Development Zone, with local government representatives and
members of Continental management also on hand. With the purpose of providing sufficient
store space and increasing the plant’s production capacity, the expansion marks a further step
towards the company’s growth strategy in the important booming market of China.
Located in Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone, the construction of the
new facility started in April and finished end of November this year. With investment of 54 million
RMB, the new building covers a building area of 8,300 sqm, providing 4,000 sqm of storage
space and 2,800 sqm of shop floor. With this new facility, 4 new production lines of Powertrain
Division will be installed for the production of Injector and High Temperature Sensor, the
capacity of which will reach 35.8 million units till 2016.

opened our second plant in Jingyue development zone last year and less than 1 year we further
expanded our first plant. Continental Automotive Changchun is competent in both R&D and
production, with production capabilities in electronic and mechanic automotive components.

The Chassis & Safety division develops and produces electronic and hydraulic brake and chassis
control systems, sensors, driver assistance systems, air bag electronics and sensors, washer

system solutions for vehicle powertrains. The comprehensive range of products includes gasoline and
