Computer Classroom Regulations
Approved at the 57th meeting of the computer committee Dec 26, 1996

(1) Purpose
The purpose of establishing these regulations is to manage and maintain all the computer classrooms in
the Computer Center (hereinafter called CC). There are currently four computer classrooms providing
computer facilities and a teaching environment for the faculty, staff and students of NTUST.
(2) Service target
1. The faculty, staff and students of NTUST [hereinafter called user(s)].
2. Departments, student clubs or units outside of schools that have permission to open computer
classes.
(3) Service hours
1. Academic days:
Monday to Friday 08:30AM to 08:30PM
Saturday and Sunday 10AM to 6PM
2. Summer/Winter Break: 08:30AM to 04:30PM
3. Times may vary during national or consecutive holidays.
4. Any change in the service hours will be announced on the notice board and the website of the CC.
(4) Renting Regulations
1. Individual users have permission to enter the computer classrooms that are available with student ID.
2. (A) Renting Priority:
1. Regular course of academic units
2. Computer courses held by the CC or other units of NTUST
3. Workshops and training courses held by student clubs
4. Computer training courses held by foreign units
(B) Procedures
1. Apply to rent at least one week in advance.
2. Please ask for the application form at the consultation of the CC at the 5th floor in the Research
Building.
3. The original copy of the application form should be returned to the applicant and the
photocopy should be filed by the CC after approval.
(5) Important Notices
1. Please keep the classrooms tidy. Do not bring food or drink inside.
2. Please use the facilities within the classrooms with care. Users have to pay the full price of any lost or
damaged equipment.
3. Please use 75 pound or above A4 size printing paper for the laser printers in the CC. Do not print on
both sides.
4. Please inform the on-duty staff of any problems.
5. Please comply with all the regulations for using the computer classrooms. Violators will be punished
in accordance with appropriate regulations.
6. During classroom hours, users should bring their personal belongings when leaving their seats and are
responsible for anything lost.
7. Users will be suspended from using any of the facilities in the CC if they violate other related
regulations (e.g., e-mail service or Campus Network Traffic Management regulations) in the
computer classrooms.
8. Further regulations will be announced if necessary.
9. These regulations come into effect upon the approval of the Computer Committee. Amendments to
these regulations should follow the same procedures.
