Like My Own Family: Care, Culture and Language for Older Migrants, produced
by the Northern Migrant Resource Centre, Preston VIC 2006. Abstract: This is an 18
minute documentary film which invites the viewer into the homes of 5 frail older
migrant families from diverse cultural backgrounds, namely Turkish, Vietnamese,
Somali, Greek and Assyrian.
Taking the First Step Together: Gambler’s Help in Your Community, A Resource to
Support Problem Gambling Education with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse
(CALD) Communities, produced by the Multicultural Gambler’s Help Program
and Solid Media, funded by the Office of Gaming and Racing, Department of
Justice, Melbourne 2009. Abstract: CALD communities face a number of issues
that can make them vulnerable to problem gambling and limit their access to
professional support services. Using culturally relevant characters and scenarios,
this DVD covers pathways to gambling, the impact of problem gambling, and
options for seeking help. The resource kit includes:
