DISASTER RESPONSE PLAN
POLICY:
Edwin Fair Community Mental Health Center will be prepared in the event of a disaster.
PROCEDURE:
Staff will be trained in both CPR and First Aid, as outlined in Policy II-32. Specified staff will also
be trained in crisis intervention, as documented on the Clinical Privileging Form. Human Resource
Department will keep records of this training in personnel files. The Safety Chair Person will work
closely with staff to assure retraining is done regularly, and will make arrangements for the training.
In the event of a disaster in Edwin Fair CMHC's catchment area, staff will assist the Red Cross,
Salvation Army, or other service organizations as needed. The time spent will be considered as
work time and regular salary will be given.
