PHYSICS
ENDORSEMENT COURSES
This major satisfies the criteria for a teaching
endorsement in physics, qualifying students to teach
physics at the high school and middle school and junior
high level. Students should seek a teaching
endorsement in a second area such as biology,
chemistry, earth science, broad area science, or
mathematics.

PHYSICS MINOR:
Students completing this minor to obtain a teaching
endorsement can receive a teaching endorsement in physics
only if the following requirements are met: 1) the student is
working on or already has an endorsement in biology,
chemistry, Earth science, general science (if not the chosen
designated science area), or mathematics; 2) the student
passes the WEST-E exam for physics; 3) the student
successfully completes SCED 324 and PHYS 492. SCED
324 requires admission to the Teacher Preparation Program;
and 4) the student demonstrates proficiency of student
learning outcomes through a program portfolio prior to
student teaching.

Certification Program must also complete this
sequence.)
Pre-Admission Observation (40 hours) – must complete
40 hours of observation in a P-12 school prior to
enrolling in EFC 210. Please contact the EFC
