Introduction
 Last week students wrote about a storm – what other weather is there? Students work in pairs to complete Activity Sheet 1 - Weather
Word Scramble (Part A). Using Teacher Resource 1, check answers with students.
 Ask students to identify opposite weathers and write down their answers on Activity Sheet 1 (Part B). Ask students to also identify
weather that they like and hate. Encourage students to try to express their feelings and give reasons in detail
Supporting Tasks
 Ask students to work on SB p.28 Ex 8 and p.29 a,b,c
 Discuss good presentation skills and ask students to list out possible DOs and DON’Ts, refer to Teacher Resource 1 (Part B) for more
ideas for comparison
 Practice by putting students into groups and reading out the poem on Teacher Resource 2 - ask students to apply skills learnt.
Students could be given a specific verse which they practice or the entire poem – differentiate appropriately.
 Read “Cloudy with a chance of meatballs” with students, ask students to jot down details about the different kinds of weather
experienced by people in the town of Chewandswallow. Discuss with students the weather in the town of Chewandswallow. Does it
seem usual to them?
 Using Activity Sheets 2 and 3, students plan a weather forecast for the town of Chewandswallow.
 Students practice reading out the speech to a partner.
Main Task
 Students present their weather reports to the class.
Post Task Activities
 Students evaluate their own presentation skills - Activity Sheet 3.
