A concrete noun is a word that stands for an object that can be sensed. Examples of
concrete nouns are tree, car, duck, or radio.
An abstract noun is a word that stands for an idea, condition or feeling. Examples of
abstract nouns are honesty, freedom, right to privacy or hope.
A collective noun is one that stands for a collection of objects or ideas. Examples are
team, flock, classes, or Green Bay Packers. You treat collective nouns as singular if all
the members act as a group. You treat collective nouns as plural if each of the members is
acting as an individual.
