Collaborative Partnership Manager Role The School and College will each nominate a Collaborative Partnership Manager. The Collaborative Partnership Manager(s) are responsible to the Dean / Principal of Partner College (PPC) respectively for ensuring the maintenance of the standards and delivery of the programme(s), and for effective liaison with each other and with the key administrators in each institution, in accordance with the guidelines in the University's Procedures on Collaboration between Institutions on Taught Programmes. In addition to the overarching support given by the Collaborative Partnership Manager, subject specific academic support will be negotiated by the Collaborative Partnership Manager and provided by the specialist Subject Link tutors. The Collaborative Partnership Managers are appointed by: i) ii) Principal of Partner College; and by Associate Dean Learning and Teaching of School of Design The programme(s) are subject to the approval and published monitoring and review procedures of the University to ensure that the administration, staffing, academic validity of the programme(s) and standards achieved are equivalent to those of the University and that the quality of student experience is consistent with that of students following similar programme(s) at the University. The College’s Programme(s) Annual Review report(s), External Examiner(s) report(s) and the NU Collaborative Partnership Manager’s annual report are submitted to the School’s Head of Quality Assurance & Enhancement, in accordance with the School of Design and University's schedule for annual review and evaluation. The relevant programme monitoring report, External Examiner(s) report(s) together with the NU Collaborative Partnership Manager’s reports are forwarded to the relevant NU Head of Academic Group and Programme Leader for consideration. As part of the annual review procedures, the School’s Head of Quality Assurance & Enhancement will incorporate an evaluation of the programme monitoring reports prepared by the Collaborative Partnership Manager (NU and Partner College) into the School’s annual review process. The role and responsibilities of the Collaborative Partnership Manager is to: Production of requisite documentation for the approvals and review processes, supported by the Collaborative Administrator; Ensuring the quality of the academic programme and the implementation of annual programme monitoring, including follow-up and enhancement activities within the collaborative provision; Implementation of initiatives that support the development and enhancement of learning and assessment practices at partner institutions; Promotion of initiatives that support the integration and sharing of Research & Innovation and Learning practices between the School and partner institutions; Liaising with partner institutions to agree the dates and arrangements for reciprocal visits between partner institutions and the School. Approval of all students admitted to the programmes (jointly with partner institutions) in accordance with the programme regulations; Oversight of enrolment and induction processes; Liaison with external examiners; Oversight of marketing and publicity and seeking approval of such from the Northumbria Dean; Ensuring that the partner institution notifies the School of any changes to the content, delivery or assessment of any of the programmes/modules. Additionally, the Collaborative Partnership Manager will undertake the following specific tasks directly or liaise with the Collaborative Administrator (or representative) to ensure that each task is completed: Ensure that all assessments go through the internal moderation and external examination processes. To identify any staff development needs for staff at the partner institution and arrange for the provision of such development. To ensure that Annual Programme Monitoring feeds into the Northumbria Review processes. Ensure that Examination Boards are arranged to take place at partner institutions at appropriate times to consider student awards and to attend such Boards. Compile an initial review (first delivery of a level entry) and undertake Annual Programme Monitoring in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Learning and Teaching Support section of Academic Registry on the operation of the programme in conjunction with partner institutions. The Annual Programme Monitoring should include a statistical comparison of the performances on programmes. Discuss and identify staff development need. Provide support and guidance in respect of the quality management and academic development of the NU collaborative provision. Receive and consider the Programme(s) annual review report(s) and External Examiner(s) report(s). Notify the ADLT of any concerns that may require the immediate attention of the School / University. Participate in academic reviews and validations in respect of the collaborative provision.
