OLATHE — Larry Kent Christensen, age 72, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, in
Olathe. Larry was born June 30, 1939, in Salina to Orval “Pete” and Clila Christensen.
He was a graduate of Salina High School and Kansas Wesleyan University. Larry was
employed with Equifax Services as an insurance investigator and Graves Trucking Co.
A longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Olathe, he served as an usher
for many years. Earlier in his life, he was an avid golfer, winning many tournaments
while in college.
He is survived by his brother, Mike (Gaye) Christensen; one nephew, Gary
Christensen; and cousins, Raymond Anderson, Ivan Anderson, Ruth Parker, Bonnie
Packard and Keith Long. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at PenwellGabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob, Olathe.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Grace United Methodist Church,
11485 S. Ridgeview, Olathe. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at
Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorials are suggested to the church. To leave a
