The 3 highest placed ponies, in each class not already qualified, will qualify for the Final which will take place at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials on Friday 23 rd August

2013. Qualifications to go no lower than 6 th

place.

NPS Scotland /Kingfisher Building Products Open Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter will be run under the

National Pony Society Rules.

Class W1 Ponies not exceeding 122cm(12hh) Fences max 2’3”

Class W2 Ponies exceeding 122cm (12hh) not exceeding 138cm (13.2hh) Fences max 2’9”

Class W3 Ponies exceeding 138cm (13.2hh) Fences max 3’3”

Please note: Class W1 Will also include Novice WH Ponies

Blair Castle Open Working Hunter Pony Series: Ponies placed first to fourth in the qualifying classes will qualify for the Championships held at Blair Castle International Horse

Trials and Country Fair on Thursday 22 nd

August 2013. Qualification may go down to sixth place if higher placed ponies have previously qualified. The series is run under BSPS rules.

Class W4 OPEN WHP Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over not exceeding 133cm. Riders not to have attained their 14 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year. Fences max 90cm

Class W5 OPEN WHP Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over exceeding 133cm and not exceeding

143cm. Riders not to have attained their 17 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year.

Fences max 1m

Class W6 OPEN WHP Mare or gelding 4yrs old and over exceeding 143cm and not exceeding

153cm. Riders not to have attained their 20 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year.

Fences max 1.05m

Working Hunter

Class W7 Novice Working Hunter 2’3”-2’6” ( A Novice is a horse/rider combination who have never been placed first or second in any WH more than 3 times, or have any BSJA winnings)

Blair Qualifier

Class W8

Eligibility: Horses must be 15hh and over. Horses must not have won more than £400 in total in any WH competitions, more than £400 in BS winnings or have more than 45 BE points. Riders must be 18yo or over on

1 Jan 2013.

Course : You will be asked to jump a course of 8-12 fences approx 3'3" in height. Classes will be judged in line with Sport Horse Breeding Society of GB rules. Hats must conform to the BRC rulebook.

Qualification: The first three partnerships in each qualifier will qualify for the final even if they did not jump clear. If one of the first three has already qualified, their qualification can be passed down to the fourth placed horse and rider provided they jumped clear. To be eligible for the final, the rider must be a member of a riding club affiliated to BRC.

To compete at the FINAL riders must be a Riding Club member.

Stewarts Building Services/BHS Scotland Working Hunter

Working Hunter Series 2013 Blair Qualifier

Class W9

Eligibility: Horses must be 15hh or over, 4 years old and over. Riders must be 18 years old or over. To compete at the final, either the rider or owner of the horse must be a member of the BHS. Course: 8-12 fences approx

3'6", judged in line with Sports Horse GB rules.

Qualifying: The first three partnerships will qualify even if they have not jumped clear. If one of these has already qualified, their qualification may be handed down to the fourth placed horse and rider provided they had a clear round in the jumping.

To compete at the FINAL riders must be a BHS Member and this must be registered prior to the date of the final

Novice Mixed Ridden Mountain & Moorland

Class R10

Eligibility: a novice pony is one that has not won 1 st place in either an open mixed mountain & moorland or breed ridden class prior to 1 st Jan. 2013. Ponies that have won any 4,5,& 6 yr old class in the previous year are deemed open ponies. Ponies must wear snaffle bridles.

QUALIFYING CLASSES

Class R12 BRIGHT STARS FIRST PONY

Ponies 4 years old or over not exceeding 128cms Suitable for a child’s First Pony off the Lead Rein. Riders not to have attained their 10 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year.

Ponies 4 years old or over not exceeding 153cms

Riders not to have attained their 20 th birthday before 1 st January the current year.

Class R14 BRIGHT STARS INTERMEDIATE

Animals 4 years old or over. exceeding 146cms. Riders not to have attained their 25 th birthday before 1 st

January in the current year.

Class R15 BRIGHT STARS RIDING HORSE

Animals 4 years old or over. exceeding 148cms. Riders any age.

Class R16 BRIGHT STARS HUNTER

Animals 4 years old or over. exceeding 148cms Riders any age

Class R17 BRIGHT STARS HERITAGE MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND RIDDEN MIXED BREEDS

Mixed M & M ponies, any breed. Riders any age, except riders must be 12 years old and over on 1 st January in the current year to ride any small breed stallions and riders must be 14 years old or over on 1 st January in the current year to ride any large breed stallions. (All ponies must be shown off the lead rein).

Bright Star THE FINALS

The finals will be held at the B.S.P.S. Summer Championship Show, Arena U.K., Grantham, Lincs on 21 st – 24 th August, 2013.

All competitors in the final will receive a Finalist ROSETTE.Placed Rosettes will be awarded to 10 th place in all classes.

RULES AND ELIGIBILITY

1) PONIES/HORSES THAT HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THE R.I.H.S. OR H.O.Y.S. IN ANY SECTION CANNOT

The Bright Stars classes are open to B.S.P.S. members and NON members riding registered or unregistered animals.

Animals do not require a J.M.B. Height Certificate.

Animals and riders do not need to be registered to qualify or compete at the Final.

QUALIFICATION CARDS WILL BE AWARDED TO THE FIRST THREE ANIMALS IN EACH CLASS

All other B.S.P.S. General and Championship Show Rules apply AT THE FINAL ONLY.

NPS Scotland /Kingfisher Building Products Open Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter will be run under the

National Pony Society Rules.

National Pony Society Scotland Rules below:

1.

Ponies may only qualify once for each NPS Scotland Competition Final.

2.

All Mountain & Moorland Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective stud book. Part breds and X registered ponies and Eriskays are not eligible.

3.

Qualification in the M. & M In Hand Section may go to 3 rd in the Championship.

All others may go to no lower than 6 th place

4.

For Novice classes. Ponies must wear a snaffle bridle & must not have won a 1 st

in an open ridden mixed M. & M. or breed class prior to Jan 1 st 2013. Ponies that have won any 4,5,& 6 yrs old class in the previous year are deemed open ponies and are therefore not eligible for the NPS Scotland Kilmannan Novice Final. An Open class is one for Registered Ponies that does not mention Junior,

Novice, Intermediate, Lead Rein or 1 st Ridden in its description. The description may or may not include the word Open

.

Entry for the Finals can only be made by sending the official card duly signed by the Judge at the time of qualifying with your entry form.

The OWNER must be or become a member of NPS Scotland before entering the Finals.

7.

All ridden ponies must be shown off the lead rein except in the specified Lead Rein Qualifier Class.(selected Shows only)

M&M Lead rein ponies mares or geldings 4 yrs and over not exceeding 122cms. Dartmoor Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh A and Welsh B. Rider under 9 yrs

M&M First ridden ponies, mares or geldings 4 yrs and over not exceeding 128cms. Dartmoor Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh A and Welsh B. Rider under 12 yrs

Max. Height for HP/RP is 153cm or 15 hh – foal classes are excluded

Working Hunter

Working Hunter Series 2013 Blair Qualifier will be judged in line with the Sport Horse breeding of Great Britain Rules

 ROSETTES AWARDED TO 6 th PLACE

ALL HATS MUST BE TO RECOMMENDED P.C. STANDARD - Pony Club members must have their hats tagged.(unless otherwise stated).

 Pony Club members may not wear spurs without permission from DC, which must be shown on the day.

 AGE AS AT 1 ST JANUARY IN CURRENT YEAR UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.

 The organisers reserve the right to SPLIT OR AMALGAMATE classes or move riders entered in the wrong class.

 IN THE CASE OF CLASSES CLASHING COMPETITORS MUST DECIDE WHICH CLASS IS PRORITY

 Any objection on the day must be made in writing to the Branch Committee and be submitted to the secretary’s caravan accompanied by a £10 deposit which will be returned if the objection is not considered to be frivolous. It will be addressed at the next committee meeting.

 NO entry fees refunded within 48hrs of competition.

 PLEASE CLEAN UP ALL DROPPINGS, HAY & LITTER

 ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON SHORT LEADS AT ALL TIMES

 ALL GATES TO THE SHOW FIELD MUST BE CLOSED AT ALL TIMES TO PREVENT LOOSE HORSES ESCAPING

Health and Safety Policy

This competition is organised in accordance with Pony Club Health & Safety legislation. The organiser has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all official stewards.

 Emergency services must have access to all parts of the competition site at all times therefore members of the public must not park vehicles so as to obstruct access

 Any action hazardous to Health & Safety should be reported to the organisers:

 In case of emergency members of the public should contact the nearest official or dial 999.

 Legal Liability: Save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers or anyone for who they are in law responsible, neither the organisers, nor the Pony Club, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. The organiser has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. Photographic Rights – competitors and their parents/guardians have given authorisation for any photographs/videos/film or TV footage or other images taken by press/outside agencies/ official Pony Club photographers at authorised Pony Club activities, including the Area

Interbranch competitions 2013, of persons or horses/ponies taking part in Pony Club events to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of The Pony Club and/or official sponsors of The Pony
