Wonder Tablitz Corporation partner Stephen Schultz provides strategic counsel on
product development and design, as well as sales and marketing.
Stephen Schultz has more than 40 years of industrial and household cleaning products
experience. He began his career in 1966 at Benda Products, Inc. (Canton, Mass.), a
regional supplier and distributor of cleaning chemicals for industrial laundries, janitorial,
dry cleaners and garment manufacturers. Recognizing several of the company’s products
had potential consumer applications, Stephen Schultz packaged one stain remover and
quickly secured distribution at a local grocery chain. Stephen Schultz’s success with the
stain remover heightened his interest in consumer products. He sold Benda Products in
1988, but retained rights to the consumer stain remover formula and its packaging.

In 1990, Stephen and his wife, Joyce Schultz, founded The Gonzo Corporation (Canton,
Mass.), to manufacture and market consumer household cleaning products, including the
already successful stain remover formula. As president of The Gonzo Corporation, he
lead his team, which included his two sons, to successfully develop and launch stain
removers, dry cleaning sponges and odor absorbing crystals. The first product to receive
national retail distribution was Gonzo Stain Remover, the formula created at Benda
Products.
In 2003, The Gonzo Corporation was sold to a private equity firm specializing in
consumer cleaning products – the Harbour Group (St. Louis, Mo.).
Stephen graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor of science in business
administration.
A Family History of Cleaning Up
With more than 70 years of combined experience, Stephen, Andrew and Bill Schultz are
no strangers to the consumer household cleaning products industry. In fact, the Schultz
family boasts a rich history of successfully innovating consumer products with proven
retail appeal.
The family’s entry into the cleaning products industry began in 1972 when Stephen
Schultz joined Benda Products, Inc. (Canton, Mass.), an industrial chemical
manufacturer. Stephen recognized some of Benda Products’ industrial formulas and
products could have tremendous appeal to consumers.
Stephen produced a consumer-friendly product package for a stain remover formula and
presented it to a local grocery chain. In 1988, when Benda Products was sold, Stephen
Schultz retained the rights to the consumer stain remover formula and its packaging and
used this formula as the founding product for his next company – The Gonzo
Corporation.
In 1990, Stephen and his wife, Joyce Schultz, founded The Gonzo Corporation (Canton,
Mass.). Andrew and Bill, the founders’ sons, joined the company as executive officers
and partners later that year. Over the course of the next decade, the company developed
and successfully marketed several key innovative products, including the founding
product, Gonzo Stain Remover, as well as The Gonzo Wonder Sponge. By 2003, the
company had grown dramatically and was subsequently sold to a private equity firm
specializing in consumer cleaning products – the Harbour Group (St. Louis, Mo.)

However, the Schultz family continued to capitalize on its extensive industry experience
and began exploring new ideas for innovative consumer cleaning products.
At the beginning of 2006, the family identified a need for effective consumer cleaning
products that would also deliver significant environmental, cost and convenience benefits
and established Wonder Tablitz Corporation to achieve their new mission. The Schultz
family immediately began exploring an entirely different approach to household cleaning
products, focusing on the use of patented effervescent tablets and patent-pending spray
bottles to achieve their goal.
The new products – Wonder Tablitz – not only clean and deodorize effectively, but
deliver significant environmental, cost and convenience benefits. Wonder Tablitz
products became available nationwide in the fall of 2007.
