Gospel Reading: Luke 15:1-10
We are delighted to welcome everyone to St Peter’s, especially students and people
visiting Canterbury. If this is your first visit please introduce yourself to one of
the Stewards or the Minister and sign the Visitors’ Book on the table in the Church
Vestibule. If you are new to the Church or have recently moved into the area, and
would like more details about what we offer, please speak to one of the Door or
Church Stewards.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy fellowship over tea, coffee or squash after the
morning service. Visitors and newcomers are especially welcome to stay.

Copies of the latest edition of the Circuit Newsround are available on the table in the
Vestibule. They include report and photos of Helen Letley’s ordination. Please help
yourself.
Speak to the Stewards for details of the Crèche or if you need a large print copy of
the Bible. There is a Hearing Aid Loop System in the Church. Users should switch to
the “T” position. The loop is most effective if users sit in the seats at each side of
the church rather than the middle.

We pray for all who are unwell or may be unable to get to church, especially May Gurr,
Muriel Kempthorne, Margaret Withers, Hazel Burgess, Olive Cutting, Pam Lees,
Pam Lee Evans, George Pope, Adrian Maxwell, Renee Matthews, John and
Marlene Wilson – John has now had his operation and is doing well, Eunice
Holliday, Christopher Teusa.

Laura as she begins her MA course in London
Andy, taking her place as Youth & Student Worker.
Lindsey and Geoff Court, following the endorsement at last week’s
Circuit Meeting of their candidature to become Ordained Methodist Ministers,
And as they go on to the next stage of being tested by the District Committee.
Congratulations to Bernard & Sheila Powell who celebratd their Golden Wedding
Anniversary on 14 September.

Emergency appeal for Syria through Christian Aid. Please give as generously as
you can to support Christian Aid’s partner REACH in its humanitarian relief. (More

Canterbury Deanery.

Saturday 5
7.30pm in the church. Concert by the Galliard Trio. Tickets £10
(Students £5) from Joy or Glen Sharman (01227 634571). All
Saturday 26 10.30 – 3.00 pm Quiet Day on the subject The Light. Further
details to follow.
Our Harvest Festival Weekend will be Saturday and Sunday 12 and 13
October. On Saturday we shall be holding a Barn Dance from 6.30 pm.
There will be a live band – lots of fun for everyone! Please sign up on the
list in the Foyer.
The Sunday evening service will be in the form of a Songs of Praise and you
will be asked for your favourite harvest hymns nearer the time. Further details
of both events later.

Community Development, Discipleship Development and Ministry Development. Further
