Background Information:
Students will research a type of bacteria or virus and produce an informational brochure.
Student Requirements:
Students will be assigned a type of bacteria or virus from the list below. They will then
produce a wanted poster.

Project Description:
Research your assigned bacteria/virus. Make an informational brochure for your
bacteria. Locate a brochure template from the web. You can also use the templates on
Microsoft Publisher. Your research and brochure should include the following:

"Photo" (microscopic picture or picture of the disease on an infected body)
Gram Stain Photo (a pink or purple stain is used to highlight the shape of the
bacteria)

8. Where it is most likely to be found when it infects a person
9. Most common injury done to victim
10. Is it considered dangerous? What kind of damage is caused? How severe is the
disease?
11. Number of victims (in a population or year)
12. Most effective ways to fight against the germ
13. Any other identifying characteristics (ways for someone to know that side effects
of the bacteria.)
Procedure:
Students have three class periods to research their disease and make their brochure. Any
additional time needed for research or production of the brochure is to be done outside of
class.
