1. BOOKINGS AND SERVICE FEES
 Service fee for Contenda is $2500, which includes a $330 non – refundable booking
fee.
 All bookings must be made directly with Wimborne Park Stud by way of completion
of this agreement and payment of the non - refundable booking fee.
 No semen will be collected or dispatched until the remainder of the service fee is paid
in full. This may be paid closer to time of breeding your mare but please allow
sufficient time for payments to clear before you need semen to be supplied.
 Service fees are non transferrable and cannot be sold or gifted to third parties.
2. EARLY BIRD SERVICE FEE
 A discount of $200 off Contenda’s service fee is offered for bookings made by 30th
September 2015.
 Contenda’s Earlybird service fee is $2300.
 The Earlybird service fee is booked by receipt of a signed copy of this agreement and
payment of a non-refundable $330 booking fee.
 The outstanding balance of the Earlybird service fee may be paid closer to the time of
breeding your mare however all funds must be paid and cleared prior to semen being
dispatched or by 31st January 2016, whichever comes sooner.
 If the purchaser fails to pay the outstanding balance of the service fee by 31st January
2016 then the non-refundable booking fee and the service fee will be forfeited.
 The Earlybird Special must be used in the 2015/16 breeding season and is not
transferable to other breeding seasons.
 The Live Yearling Guarantee and Pregnancy Guarantee apply for the Early Bird
Discounted service fee.
 Multiple Early Bird service fees can be purchased for the season however there are
no additional multiple mare discounts applied to the Earlybird service fee.
3. ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION WITH FRESH OR CHILLED SEMEN
 Contenda is not available for live cover, all mares are to be artificially bred.
 All costs incurred with the collection and freight of semen are the responsibility of
the mare owner.
 Collection cost of semen is $242 per collection.
 Cost of semen transport will vary depending on method of transport chosen (courier
or express post) – please consult with stud manager about this.
 Please note that only Sameday semen deliveries are available on Monday, Saturday
and Sunday.
4. FROZEN SEMEN
 Frozen semen is available and can be sent if Contenda is not available for fresh
semen collection at the required time (subject to availability of dry shipper).
 Dry shipper hire and return transport of the shipper are at the owner’s cost.
 Enough frozen semen for one (1) insemination will be sent at a time.
 All the features and benefits of the Gold Service Fee package as detailed in this
contract apply if frozen semen needs to be substituted in place of fresh/chilled semen.

5. PREGNANCY GUARANTEE AND RIGHT TO SUBSTITIUTE MARE
 In the event that the mare fails to become pregnant after insemination on 3 separate
oestrus cycles the owner may substitute another mare owned or leased by them in her
place or the balance of the service fee paid, less any other costs incurred in breeding
the mare to date, will be refunded.
 A mare is considered to be pregnant if she has a positive pregnancy test anytime after
14 days post insemination.
 An additional handling fee of $220 will be charged for the substitute mare.
6.
PREGNANCY TESTING
 A pregnancy test must be performed by a veterinarian between fourteen (14) and
sixteen (16 ) days post insemination and then again between forty (40) and sixty (60)
days post conception.
 Failure to have these pregnancy tests performed will void the Live Foal/Yearling
Guarantee
 Wimborne Park Stud is to be notified of the results of pregnancy tests within 7 days
of test being performed.
6.
LIVE FOAL/YEARLING GUARANTEE
 A Live Foal/Yearling Guarantee is offered to the mare owner in the event that a mare
deemed to be pregnant from the breeding to Contenda loses the pregnancy OR the
resulting foal from the breeding fails to survive twelve (12) months after birth.
 A mare is considered to be pregnant if she has a positive pregnancy test anytime after
14 days post insemination.
 The Live Foal /Yearling Guarantee is void if loss of the pregnancy or death of the
foal is as a result of negligence or neglect.
 Confirmation in writing by a registered veterinarian of the loss of the pregnancy or
death of the resulting foal, including a reason for such loss, is required to be received
by the stud within 7 days of the loss.
 In the event of the Live Foal/Yearling Guarantee being exercised an additional $220
handling fee, as well as any other ancillary costs (semen collection, freight, vet fees)
associated with the repeat breeding of the mare, is payable on returning the mare or a
substitute mare to stud.
 The Live Foal/Yearling Guarantee is only valid for the breeding season immediately
following the loss of the pregnancy or foal and is valid for one breeding season only.
 The Live Foal/Yearling Guarantee is for one repeat breeding and does not guarantee
that any particular mare will become pregnant or have a live foal born, nor does it
guarantee that any particular foal will survive to 12 months of age.
 The Live Foal/Yearling Guarantee is not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for
cash or gifted/sold to a third party.
 If the mare who has lost the pregnancy is deemed not suitable to be bred the
following season, a substitute mare owned or leased by the owner of the Live Foal
Guarantee may be used. Wimborne Park Stud must be notified of the substitution of
the mare.
7. MULTIPLE MARE DISCOUNT
 Service fee for the first mare is $2500, service fee for the 2nd mare is $2400, and
service fee for the 3rd and subsequent mares is $2300.
 All mares must be owned or leased by the same person and inseminated to Contenda
(imp) in the one breeding season.
 A non refundable booking fee of $330 will apply for each mare.

8. EMBYRO TRANSFER
 Contenda is available for use in embryo transfer programs.
 The stud must be advised that you wish to use the semen for an embryo transfer
program and a service fee paid prior to shipment of semen.
 All conditions in this breeding contract including the Live Foal/Yearling Guarantee
apply to embryo(s) obtained through an embryo transfer program.
 A positive pregnancy will be deemed to exist when the recipient mare(s) has a
positive pregnancy test at any time from 10 days post transfer of the embryo.
 If multiple pregnancies are obtained via embryo transfer the relevant multiple mare
discounted service fee will apply to all subsequent embryos.
 The stud must be informed of all embryos obtained and the relevant service fee paid
for multiple pregnancies within 21 days of the date that the pregnant recipient mare
was inseminated.
 A service certificate will be issued for each pregnancy obtained via embryo transfer.
 Each pregnancy obtained by embryo transfer will be eligible for the Live Yearling
Guarantee.
9. SERVICE CERTIFICATES
 AWHA Artificial Insemination Forms must be filled in and returned to the stud prior
to service certificates being issued.
 The artificial insemination forms can be downloaded from the forms page of
www.awha.com.au
 Service certificates from either the Hannovarian Society, Australian Warmblood
Horse Association , ANSA OR ACE will be issued by the stud only after a 40 – 60
day positive pregnancy test and on full payment of all fees and receipt of the
completed AWHA artificial insemination form.
 Please inform the stud from which association you would like the service certificate
to be issued.
10. RIGHT OF REFUSAL
 Wimborne Park Stud may exercise the right to refuse any mare for breeding for any
reason whatsoever. The decision of the stud is final.
11. TRANSPORT OF SEMEN
 Any risk, expense and liability associated with the transport of the semen once it has
left the premises of Wimborne Park Stud is borne by the purchaser. This includes loss
of the semen, late delivery of the semen, damage to the packaging or semen whilst in
transit, semen transport fees, semen collection fees, any vet fees associated with
preparation of the mare for breeding.

12. PAYMENT
 Payment can be made by cheque, cash, credit card(surcharge applies) or direct
internet bank transfer.
 Collection or supply of semen will not occur until all funds are cleared – please allow
time for this to occur when booking in your mare.

Transported chilled semen





Mare owners are advised to have their mares assessed for breeding soundness before
breeding by a veterinarian.
Please contact the stud on your mare’s first day in season on the cycle you wish to
breed.
The stud needs to be informed that your mare will require semen the night
before the collection is required. Semen will then be collected fresh for you at 6am
the following morning and available for pick up or shipping from 7am.
Try to plan for your mare to be inseminated midweek – this keeps vet and transport
costs to a minimum.
Consult with your veterinarian on how to manipulate your mare’s cycle so that she is
most likely to need a midweek insemination.
Please supply your veterinarian’s details if the insemination is to occur via transported
chilled semen.
