Men's residential psychodrama workshop
An Experiential Psychodrama Workshop for Men who want to
Enhance their lives and relationships.
Workshop Leaders: Simon Jones and Simon Gurnsey
About the Workshop
This mens residential weekend will consist of structured group
sessions framed by ritual elements. There will be opportunities for
you to:



build and maintain relationships with other men
gain greater strength and confidence
increase your ability to be more creative in important areas
One of the aims of psychodrama is to build community through
people assisting others to develop themselves.
At this psychodrama workshop the work of the group will be carried
out in a variety of ways: including taking up auxiliary roles, dramatic
enactments and reflections. There is an emphasis on experiential
learning, producing a satisfying and integrating experience.
Men will be offered a taste of Zen meditation.
Group Leaders
Simon Jones is a psychodramatist, counsellor and social worker. He
reflects; "I embarked on my own personal development work when I
was a young man struggling to be a good father for my children. I
found psychodrama to be a powerful tool for my personal growth and
therefore decided to start training in the method in the early 90's. At
about same time I joined my first men's group, which I found valuable
for redefining my thoughts feelings and roles, as a man."
Simon Gurnsey runs groups for depressed people and their loved
ones in the Depression Support Network." He draws on the resources
of the group to assist each person in the group. Simon has trained in
psychodrama since 1989 and he is a "Playback theatre" actor,
conductor and trainer.
Meditation is led by David Goldsmith. David has been a meditation
student in the Zen Buddhist tradition since 1997.

can step aside from our usual lives to share with other men. We will
use sharing circles to build community and free time to allow each of
us to claim what we need for ourselves. Tent sites are available if you
prefer not to use the double bunk rooms. For menu planning please
inform us of any specific dietary needs you may have prior to the
event.
Our aim is to keep this event low priced, with accommodation and
food provided for $125.00, scholarships may be requested in writing.

". . . A more authentic masculinity, however, can be discovered and
nourished. It is a masculinity that is restorative, vital, positive and
energising. Found in the rich soil of honest and non-competitive male
relationships, it grows in male friendships, men's groups and
gatherings, and male community . . ."

Help us continue the work
MensTrust is a community organisation that relies on donations
and grants to continue our work. We keep our course fees as
affordable as possible. Courses either break even or run at a
small loss. Also to ensure Men in financial hardship can also
benefit from MensTrust courses, a limited number of subsidised
places (scholarships) are also made available per course. If you
would like to support MensTrust work you can personally
participate in the leadership meetings or make a donation.
