Advertisement for Tour Leaders for cycling tour round York.
Scoot Cycling Holidays has been running city sightseeing tours of York on
bicycles for several years now.
We are looking for individuals who would enjoy leading groups of visitors
round the sights of York. Both leader and visitors are on bicycles and the
route is fixed. Full risk assessment etc has been done.
The primary objective of the tour is to entertain the visitors and give them an
enjoyable introduction to York, its layout and how history has shaped it. This
has to be done in a way that is safe for both visitors and leader.
Tours run daily on demand.
Good leaders will have the following attributes:
 Ability to sort out minor problems on bicycles such as a puncture
including the ability to identify any issue and assess its impact on safety
etc.
 Ability to assess the visitors’ ability to ride and any safety issues that
might lead to.
 Good judgement to enable dynamic risk assessment of any issues that
arise on the way.
 A friendly entertaining approach to explaining the layout of York and
how history has shaped it.
 Knowledge of York.
The contract is "casual" and leaders will be asked to indicate their availability
for tours.
Full training will be given
Rate of pay £7.00 per hour
