The world population in 2001 was estimated to be 6418 million people.
The projected population growth for the whole world between 2001 and 2050 is 49%.
The table below shows the proportion of the world population living in each of the 6 global
regions in 2001 and the projected proportions in 2050.

Task 1:

Task 2:
Estimate the population density of each of the six regions in 2001 and in 2050 and
comment on your findings.
Your teacher may have a map you can use to estimate the area of each of the six regions
in km². If not, then you will need to do some research using the internet. Useful sites
