JOB DESCRIPTION

In-Home Care Provider
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:

In-Home Care (IHC)
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for those tasks necessary to maintain the client in a safe and
healthy environment, promote client health and emotional well-being, and provide those
services specified by program guidelines.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ability to work with clients of diverse social and economic levels and possessing a variety
of functional levels.
a. Have client present when service is provided.
2. Knowledge of home safety.
a. Maintain care of normal standards of cleanliness.
3. Knowledge of home management skills.
a. Responsible for meal preparation, feeding, and/or clean-up.
b. Responsible for laundering of clothes and linen used by client.
c. Perform essential errands by accompanying client or perform the errand if the client
is unable to go alone.
d. Transport client to medical appointments when no other resources are available.
e. Assist clients with personal tasks such as dressing, care of appearance, and
reminding clients to take medications.
4. Complete trainings as scheduled.
a. Fundamentals of Caregiving.
b. AIDS training certification.
c. Universal precautions.
d. Infectious diseases.
e. Overexposure to chemicals.
5. Comply with office policies and procedures.
a. Report and schedule changes to the scheduler.
b. Do other duties as assigned.
