In the Alphabetical List, “Chests of metal”
(Basic No.060398) are classified in Class 6 and
2.1
“Chests, not of metal” (Basic No.200207) are
classified in Class 20, according to their
materials. If the China’s modified entry “Chests
for food [furniture]” would be added in Class
20, the classification of “Chests” would be
quite difficult.
The French indication “garde-manger” seems
to be goods as follows:

Could it be able to describe the goods like the
above image without using the term “Chests”,
if “Chests for food” would be integrated in
Class 20 as “Furniture”? Possibly, it might be
able to use the term “Cabinets”, which appears
in IB comments.
And in that case, the term “Chests” in the
indications “Chests of metal” (Basic
No.060398) and “Chests, not of metal” (Basic
No.200207) should also be modified to any
other term which obviously has the meaning as
“Containers”, because it would cause confusion
in the classification. (If these goods are
“Furniture”, they should be deleted from Class
6 and Class 20.)

“Legal research” in Class 45). Therefore, JPO
is ready to add “[academic]” to the original
proposal as follows, if necessary:
