Eastern Province had a very successful weekend in Bloemfontein at SA Duathlon Champs despite the freezing weather and high altitude! The EP jackets, fleece tops and beanie's were
certainly put to good use!
It was fantastic to see so many of the EP athletes on the podium in their red & black EP kit - 4
golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronze!
Paul Wolff (3rd), James Cunnama (4th), and Justin Gray (5th) finished in the top 5 in the
mens race, with Celeste Swart (3rd) and Mariette Hattingh (5th) finishing in the top 5 in the
womens race!
Out of the 17 senior EP athletes that took part, 12 will qualify for World Champs and 15 were
placed in the top ten in each age group!
The 9 junior EP athletes showed great determination and enthusiasm with Corney Van Der
Ryst receiving a bronze medal. 5 of the junior athletes were placed in the top 10 in their
respective age groups.
