 Monday 16th June-Photographs in Church from 9am
 Saturday 21st June-Final Session 10am-11.30am. Children to gather as usual in
Church/Parent to return at 11am for short service.
 Sunday 22nd June -MASS at 9.15am. During this Mass, the children will be presented
with their certificates.

PARISH CENTRE/YOUTH HALL SPRING CLEAN
Volunteers are needed to de-clutter, remove rubbish, etc., so that we can make it a better
place to use and socialise.
KUMI COMMUNITY FUND (UGANDA)
Coffees after Mass during June are for the Kumi Community Fund (Elspeth Robinson).
Please go along and give your support.
EVENTS
A Jazz and Contemporary Music concert will be held in St Joseph’s Church, Tow Law (as
they are trying to raise funds to pay for the restoration of the church organ which is a Harrison
and Harrison built and put in the church in 1880), on Saturday 14 June at 12 noon with
professional singers ‘Linda Matthews & Johnson’. Tickets cost £4, which includes light
refreshments.
URUGUAY V ENGLAND THURSDAY 19TH 2014
The Parish Centre Club is showing this match on a big screen in the bar.
Doors open at 7pm so come along, bring a friend and cheer England on.
DARLINGTON GREEN THEATRE - THE TEMPEST.
South Park Bandstand. 26 – 28th June at 7pm and Sunday 29 June at 3pm. Tickets £5 from
Civic, or Cornmill Box offices in advance (transferable between performances in the event of
bad weather), or on the day at the Park. This is a shortened version of Shakespeare’s iconic
play and will be a promenade performance.
CAFOD FAMILY CEILIDH 28TH JUNE 2014
Come along to the Cafod Family Ceilidh on 28th June at the Parish Centre. Tickets are £8 for
Adults and £6 for Children and include Pie & Peas. Tickets are available after Mass or from

ST AUGUSTINE’S PFA
 PICNIC (School Grounds) – Sunday 29th June 12 noon – 4.00 pm
Bring along a picnic and enjoy an afternoon with lots of activities for the children
(bouncy castle/sumo wrestling …..) Tickets £2 a family available from the school
office.
 QUIZ NIGHT (School Hall) – Friday 11th July from 7.30pm. More details to follow

The next monthly meeting will be on Tuesday 17th June at 6.45pm in the Presbytery. New
members are most welcome.
CARMEL DIVINE RETREAT CENTRE
Nunnery Lane, Darlington DL3 9PN (formerly Carmel Convent)
Perpetual (24 hours) Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held in the Chapel. For
security reasons, entry to the Chapel between 8.00pm and 6.30am must be arranged
beforehand with the Retreat Centre.
Holy Mass, in English, is celebrated daily Monday to Saturday at 7.30am.
VINCENTIANS IN PARTNERSHIP – DAY OF REFLECTION
On Saturday 28th June there will be a Day of Reflection – theme being Rejoice in the Good
News held in the Parish Centre from 10.30am – 4.00pm. It will be an opportunity to pray and
reflect, make new friends and deepen your spirituality. There are booking forms at the back
of Church. Tea/Coffee/Soup provided but you will need a packed lunch.
THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI) 22nd JUNE
Next weekend is the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. Ministers of Communion
renew their commitment on that day.
CARMEL CYCLE CLUB’S COAST AND CASTLES RIDE
Starting on 20th June, eleven students (aged 10 – 17) will be riding 200 miles from
Edinburgh Castle to Darlington following the ‘Coast and Castles’ cycle route. They will
cover the 200 mile route over three days cycling approximately 67 miles each day, raising
funds for St Teresa’s Hospice. If anyone would like to sponsor them they would be most
grateful. There is a Just Giving page on the Internet at

WANTED "HOST FAMILIES" (7 families still needed) to put up two members of a "Youth
African Choir" (you or your children may have seen them at Carmel College last year) between
21- 28 Sept. They will require an evening meal but not every day. There is no problem with
transport or needing to be dropped off early because of work commitments - this can be sorted.

Thursday 19th June.

Ordination to the Diaconate Mass on 28th June

Ordination to the Priesthood Mass on 5th July
both of these Masses will be at 11.00 am at St Mary’s Cathedral and are open to all who wish
to attend.
