Invitation to the Hounslow Junior Citizen Scheme 2015
Dear Head teacher,
Recently your school will have received correspondence outlining the re commencement of
the Hounslow Junior Citizen Scheme 2015 and asking for expressions of interest in your
school attending. We would like to thank you if you have responded.
The reason for this supplementary letter is to set out the specifics of the offer and the
associated costs which will enable your school to take part.
The Offer
Hounslow’s Junior Citizen Scheme (JCS) is an imaginative way of teaching primary school
children how to deal with everyday dangers safely and effectively. Aimed at Year 6 students,
it provides practical learning for youngsters who are shortly to make the transition into
secondary school, while at the same time encouraging good citizenship and sense of
community responsibility.
We would like to invite your Year 6 classes to attend Hounslow’s Junior Citizen Scheme (JCS)
that will be running at Cranford Community College, Cranford 2015 for 10 days between
Monday 15th June - 19th June 2015 & 22nd June - 26th June 2015.
We are asking all schools interested in attending to make a payment of £500 per school. This
will allow us to run a professional and well supported programme ensuring your children
have an excellent educational opportunity. We would also reassure schools that any under
spend will be rolled forward to the JCS in 2016 allowing us to offer a reduced price.
The JCS scheme is a partnership initiative between the Metropolitan Police Service’s
Neighbourhood Policing Team, Safer transport team, the London Borough of Hounslow
(CPU) and other multi partner agencies. Our partners have confirmed their attendance and
they will provide the interactive scenarios for the students.
We shall be able to provide transport to and from the event venue where required. The
event will run for a full day. Pupils and any accompanying staff are asked to bring along a
packed lunch.
Please complete and return the enclosed form to formally register your interest. We would
be grateful if you would state a preferred week you would like attend. We will contact you in
due course with confirmation of a date when you are invited to attend and with instructions
on how to make the payment.
Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss any queries or concerns you might have.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
PC Michael Purvey & PCSO Anna Madden
