“GC Europe Campus”: learning together
and from each other on a 1600 square metre
site
Learning today for tomorrow – for more knowledge,
confidence and success: after only one year’s construction
time, the modern “GC Europe Campus” meeting and
education centre opened in the Belgian town of Leuven at
the end of September 2008. The two-storey design building
with its impressive glass frontage, located on the site of
the European head offices of GC, now offers the space and
technology for basic, advanced and master training
courses as well as workshops and conferences all about
dentistry – not only for dentists, practice staff and dental
technicians but also for students, specialist dealers and
scientists from all over Europe.
Sharing knowledge, discovering what’s new, making
contacts
GC has been well-known for decades for its technological and
scientific expertise, but also for its professional and practiceoriented training courses. By opening the “GC Europe
Campus”, the Dental Care Company is sending out a signal of
the great importance to its attaches to professional training and
continuing education in the field of dentistry. Thus the new,
light-filled conference and training centre covering just under
1600 square metres over two storeys, has more than 1200
square metres of training space with a large number of
differently equipped classrooms and meeting rooms – for
comfortable continuing professional education under authentic
conditions at the highest standard.

Live operations in practice
Whether dentists, hygienists or dental assistants, participants
involved in dental practice can benefit from practical and group
training sessions thanks to the fully equipped treatment unit
housed in the large training room (linked to an office and
sterilization room). In these sessions, the latest materials and
techniques are used according to the latest hygiene guidelines.
Where required, a large window enables participants to observe
live operations from the adjoining room. An X-ray room with a
modern panoramic unit is also available for even more complex
work. Right next-door a 135 square metre multimedia room
provides appropriate space for meetings and presentations.
Live demos in the laboratory
However, the new “GC Europe Campus” training centre also
provides a diverse and generous training service for dental
technicians: for instance, the modular practice laboratory, offers
enough space for twelve people over a total of 106 square
metres as well as two additional workstations for model
preparation. Furthermore there are two more training rooms –
one for handling stones and one for practice work on
investment and casting.
Further information about the new “GC Europe Campus”, which is
close to Brussels and has good transport links, as well as the
upcoming programme of courses can be obtained from any GC
subsidiary and on the internet at www.gceurope.com/toplevels/campus/
