Dear Sir:
I am a captain of the Eisenhower High School Rocket Club. We are building a rocket to reach a
specific time in air and height to compete in the TARC (http://www.rocketcontest.org/) national
rocket competition. The competition is sponsored by the Aeronautics Industries Association to
promote high school students to pursue careers in rocketry, aeronautics and science.
We need sponsorship to build a rocket (from scratch [no rocket kits allowed]) that will carry a
payload of one egg to a height of exactly 750’, and be back on the ground at exactly 45 seconds.
We are deducted points for being off in height or time. Last year, Eisenhower High School
placed 8th in the nation.
We would appreciate any contribution you could make, but if you could donate $500 (taxdeductable) to buy parts and rocket motors, we would name our rocket the Eisenhower “Pratt &
Whitney Ares” rocket, to be published in the annals of history. If you can donate, please send a
check to Eisenhower High School, attn.: Rocket Club.
