Gene synthesis projects include design, synthesis, and assembly of oligonucleotides in a
standard cloning vector (usually pUC57 or pBluescript). Final constructs are verified by
doublestranded sequencing. Please send us the relevant sequence information in
digital format on disk or by email to synth@baseclear.com. We also offer codon
optimization for any organism free of charge. Also, we can perform subcloning of synthetic
genes to custom vectors, please ask us for a quote. BaseClear will only use organisms and
synthetic DNA that is classified under our GMO license. For that reason we require basic
sequence information to perform a risk analysis: donor organism, pathogenicity class, gene
name, and gene function (if known).

Baseclear is entitled to check the sequence for contents, confidentiality guaranteed and can
reject any sequence that is not classified under our GMO license.
TERMS OF DELIVERY
Synthetic genes will be delivered as purified plasmid. The client will be informed of the
project’s progress at different stages and will receive a complete report including
doublestranded sequence verification, contig sequence files with chromatograms and a
vector map. Standard delivery time is 2 to 3 weeks for constructs of 1 kb or less in size; 3
to 4 weeks for constructs between 1 and 3 kb in size; and 4-5 weeks for constructs of > 3
kb in size. Turnaround time is dependent on the requested sequence. BaseClear guarantees
the complete confidentiality of all client information, project data and biological samples
