Self-Assessment of Seminar Performance
NAME:
TUTOR:
COURSE:
SEMINAR GROUP:
This form is intended to help you assess your seminar performance over the course of your module. There are
five areas in which to consider your performance before you suggest your final numerical assessment and
offer an explanation as to why this is an appropriate summation. Your tutor will take your self-assessment and
attendance into account when allocating your final grade, and will either agree with you, or offer an explanation
for an alternative grade. You may want to draw on this reflection when completing your PDP: for example, re.
Adaptability and Flexibility; Initiative and Self-Motivation; Interpersonal Skills; Oral Communication; Team
Working Skills; Information and Research Skills; Planning and Management.
In the following table, 0 constitutes the average performance: that which could reasonably be
expected of any averagely diligent student. To score +1 or +2, your preparation and contributions
will have been above average over the course of the module, and you will have helped to enhance
the learning experience of your group, for example by asking relevant questions, sharing your
knowledge and preparation, and responding well to contributions made by your peers. To score -1
or -2, your attendance and preparation will have been consistently poor, and your lack of
commitment to the course is likely to have hampered the learning experience of your group. Please
note that EXCUSED absences do not merit a low attendance grade, while consistent attendance at
compulsory seminars does not merit a high grade in itself.

You do not need to take a straight mathematical average of your scores, but using the table above
simply as guidance, ring one number in the box below, along with a brief explanation as to why.
