Overall aims of course
This course is designed to:
- Support achievements of basic knowledge of the clinical examination as
well as the study of all surgical deviations and abnormalities in the different
body systems in different animal species.
-Enable students to provide basic health care and restraint for farm and pet
animals.
- Enable students to provide an appropriate background covering the
common and important general surgical emergencies and affections.
-Enable the development and application of appropriate attitudes and
problem solving skills.

a-Knowledge and understanding
By the end of this course the student should be able to:
a1- Define the ophthalmic affection in different animal species.
a2- Explain the ophthalmic anomalies in different animals.
a3- Describe the dental abnormalities either congenital or acquired in different
animals.
a4 – Know the various affections of ear and horns in different animals.
a5- Identify the pathological and Surgical affections of respiratory system in
different animals.
a6- Explain the respiratory system deformities and how to treat them.
a7- Identify the surgical affections of digestive system of different animal
species.
a8- Explain the surgical affections of digestive system.
a9- Recognize the urinary system affections in different animal species.
a10- Define the urinary surgical affections in different animals
a11- Explain the genital affections in different animals
a12- List the genital affections in different animals
a13- Identify the mammary gland affections in different animal species.
a14- Explain the surgical affections of fore and hind limbs in different animal
species and age.
a15- Identify the surgical affections of hoof and claw in different ages of

By the end of this course the student should be able to :
b1- Demonstrate the ophthalmological surgical problems
b2- Hypothesize the useful treatment method for different ophthalmologic
affections.
b3- Choose the suitable method for any teeth abnormalities in different animals.
B4-Compare among the different methods of the ear and horn surgical
affections.
b5- Interpret the respiratory, digestive, urinary and genital system surgical
affections in different animals
b6-Assess different methods of udder surgical affection Treatments.
