Slimmer, Smarter, Faster: LG Showcases Innovative Products at IFA
Highlights include more enthralling home entertainment and
trendsetting home appliances
Berlin, Germany, August 29, 2008 --- LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology
innovator in consumer electronics, today introduced a set of newly-evolved home appliances
at IFA 2008. LG’s home appliances at the exhibition, including TVs, home theaters, DVD
players, cooking appliances and refrigerators, represent the perfect blend of consumer insight
and LG’s unparalleled design and technology.
Slim is in
As the newest member of LG’s Scarlet series, the LG6100 is the world’s slimmest LCD TV with
a built-in digital tuner, checking in at just 44.7mm. Inside its ultra-slim casing is a rich array
of features, including LG’s Intelligent Sensor, Invisible Speaker, TruMotion 100Hz refresh and
AV Modes. This sleek and slender LCD TV provides viewers a true-to-nature viewing experience,
all with an inimitable sense of fashion and style.
Many platforms, same high definition
LG will showcase its slim full HD LCD TVs (LG6100, LG7000), Scarlet series and innovative
frameless plasma TV (PG7000) at the show. All of LG’s TVs provide consumers with an optimal
viewing experience and deliver high-quality home entertainment.
In contrast with conventional DVD players, which have an unchangeable form factor, LG’s
DVS450H disc player can be set up horizontally or vertically, or even mounted on a wall. It
also comes with a horizontal sliding door and touch sensor button. LG DVS450H is ideal for
playing DivX HD video, allowing users to watch high quality movies from a small data file.
Spectacular sound
LG’s new HT33S 2.1 Channel home theater system achieved its compact and space-saving
design without compromising pure HD sound, thanks to special tuning by renowned audio
legend Mr. Mark Levinson. Utilizing Virtual Sound Matrix technology, it creates threedimensional virtual sound effects without distortion or exaggeration. LG HT33S also has the
ability to convert existing standard-definition DVDs into HD1080p.

Total networking convergence
LG’s New N4B1 Network Storage, which provides integrated data management, goes beyond
just data sharing to offer advanced data management features including a built-in Blu-ray
drive and version management. Additionally, LG’s BD300 Blu-ray disc player provides advanced
interactivity with high quality picture and sound, and supports BD Live (BD-ROM Profile 2.0),
which enables users to connect to the internet and download video images, subtitles and
other data as well as multi-player interactive games.
LG’s new Netbook X110 has 3G HSPA capabilities already built in, allowing it to connect to
high speed wireless broadband straight out of the box. This notebook computer is the height
of ubiquitous productivity, and also includes an 80 GB hard drive, WLAN 802.11 b/g and
10/100 Ethernet connectivity for even faster connections. LG7000 LCD and PG7000 plasma TVs
also boast Bluetooth connectivity to allow viewers to see photos or listen to music stored on
compatible devices, or even connect Bluetooth headphones.
To your health
LG’s innovative home appliances help create smarter, cleaner homes and while reducing time
spent on household chores. Kompressor Plus is the second-generation of LG’s Kompressor
vacuum cleaner series, which were the first to use motorized dust compression technology.
The vacuum cleaners make cleaning more convenient and hygienic by combining LG’s
improved dust compression system, which compacts dirt into solid cubes that are easy to
dispose, with its new cyclone system. LG DuoChef, its newest convection microwave oven
available in both free-standing and built-in versions, provides improved baking and defrosting
performance through its double convection system. It also defrosts more efficiently, using
both microwaves and hot air to make sure that even the very middle of thick cuts of meat are
thawed.
LG’s refrigerators keep food fresher longer and help retain vital nutrients, and even feature
Ion Door Cooling System, a unique air circulation method, which ensures even temperatures
throughout the entire refrigerator. And LG’s VitaLight uses highly efficient interior LED lights
to induce photosynthesis in vegetables.
LG’s built-in appliances create an even more convenient and efficient kitchen environment by
combining individual appliances into a well-designed package with easy-to-use features and
emotional appeal. LG provides a variety of options and models in ovens, hobs, hoods,
refrigerators, dishwashers and microwave ovens, representing a full line-up of built-in
appliances.
Energy efficient and environmentally sound
LG’s Intelligent Sensor, standard on all Scarlet LCD TV models, automatically measures the
amount and color temperature of ambient light in a room and uses a 4,096-step algorithm to
adjust the picture and screen brightness to match. This provides viewers with a naturallooking picture that is easy on the eyes and, according to TÜV tests, lowers power
consumption by up to 69.5 percent compared to other similarly-sized TVs.
LG’s W52TE, a lower power LCD monitor, reduces energy consumption by almost as much as
turning off two desk lamps – 1.6 watts, to be precise. It uses as little as half the power of
other monitors of the same size and only draws 0.3 watts of power when in standby mode.

LG’s 2008 new steam washing machines with the largest load capacity in its class incorporate
the company’s world-first steam technology, enabling LG’s washers to use 21 percent less
energy than A grade models and less water than almost any competitor. The washer’s
innovative Steam Refresh function removes wrinkles and odors from clothes, using steam
rather than water, and was recognized by the British Allergy Foundation.
IFA, the world’s leading trade show for the general public and the consumer electronics
industry’s number one venue for doing business, is being held in Berlin, Germany from August
28 through September 3. To see LG’s advanced products in person, visit the company’s booth
at Hall 11.2 (Display & Media) and Hall 1.1 (Home Appliance).
