Purpose:
The Data Manager will look after potential stem cell donors, stem cell donors and recruitment aspects of the
bone marrow register i.e. people joining the register at events and online and to help deliver the corporate
strategy and divisional objectives by managing, developing & maintaining this data on the Anthony Nolan
Database (The Register), producing reports and documenting key processes.
During your time at Anthony Nolan we will be moving The Register to a new MS Dynamics database.
Therefore experience in writing reports in SQL and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) would be an
advantage.
Key responsibilities
Data & database strategy
 Provide useful insights & information about the Register through the provision of standard reports and
data analysis
 Manage, develop and maintain the Register data
 Ensure data quality standards are maintained; develop methods for assessment and continuously
improve data and application quality
 Provide recommendations on improvements that could be made to the Register’s data & processes
Data & database users
 Provide Standard Operating Procedures to enhance the role
 Develop customer relationships by proactively informing users on sources of new and existing data to
advise customers of facts and trends within the Register
 Analyse data to give insights and improve systems and processes
 Monitor and ensure records are updated to agreed standard
 Produce ad-hoc reports for the organisation
 Liaise and gather data from different teams to form 360 degree reports
 Ensure that statistics reported are consistent across the organisation
Regulatory responsibilities
 Ensure the Register adheres to the Data Protection Policy
 Establish guidance, provide assistance to colleagues to ensure legal, regulatory, and contractual
requirements are understood and their impact is assessed
 Ensure that users understand the importance of all data and not just the data they collect and use
Relationship management
 Manage the relationship with our data collection suppliers
Other duties
 Any other duties as directed by the Head of Department
