Bio of Kirsten Gamble
Growing up in the country I had a big family. It consisted of 5 brothers and sisters and numerous
horses, dogs, cats, and rabbits. One particular horse was like a brother to me. Only a year apart in age, we
grew up together from the time I was 1 1/2 years old until the spring I turned 28, when he passed away. I
watched him change from a dark brown foal to a snow white old man. It is from this relationship that my
passion for horses and horse art stems.
I began making art in the 2nd grade and went on to take every art class available to me through
my years at school. In 2008 I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a Bachelors
of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in two dimensional art. My artwork can be seen at the ReVive
Gallery and Studio in Lake Geneva.

###
BIO of GLAF Exhibit, Featured Artist Pam Ring:
Pam Ring, who teaches mixed media classes for GLAF, has been a collage artist for
over 45 years. During her professional career she worked at a privately owned home center for
24 years, where she was Director of Marketing Analysis and International Research.
After retiring from retail, Ms Ring was the display artist for AC Moore, an arts and crafts store in
Westchester, New York, for 5 years. She was also on the faculty of her local hospital teaching
interns in mental health care how to teach art to mental health care patients. Her work has also
been licensed for holiday greeting cards for national charities.
Although largely self-taught, Pam has studied under many well-known mixed media
artists, notably Claudine Hellmuth, Bev Braxton, Kelly Killmer, and Pia Oste Alexander at the
Woodstock school of Art. Her work has been influenced by such modern artists as Joseph
Cornell, Paul Klee, Sara Fanelli, and Howard Hodgkin.
Ms Ring states that her collages are the ultimate in "green" art, for she uses found
materials in all her pieces - ephemera, billboard papers, flea market finds, and magazines. Her
work is readily identifiable - bright colors, easy to navigate compositions, and whimsical
juxtapositions.
Ms Ring works out of her home studio in Lake Geneva where she lives with her husband
and two dogs.
