History 151: World Civilizations I

Mid-term paper is due at Week 6. You must write a paper that is at least three (3) pages
long on a topic of your choice that is pertinent to the subjects covered in Weeks 1 through
5. Please see the paper requirements noted below.
Final paper is due at Week 10. You must write a paper that is at least four (4) pages long
on a topic of your choice that is pertinent to the subjects covered in Weeks 1 through 10.
Please see the paper requirements noted below.
Late papers will be only be accepted when prior approval has been obtained. The grade
will be lowered by two points per day otherwise.
Grading:
35% class participation
30% mid-term paper
35% final paper
A = 90 to 100%
B = 80 to 89%
C = 70 to 79%
D = 60 to 69%
F = 59% or below
Participation: Please arrive on time for class, and be prepared to discuss the reading.
