STUDENT CONDUCT ON SCHOOL BUSES
A student is under the supervision of the school from the time he/she boards the bus until his/her
departure from it, and he/she shall be accountable for his/her actions in the same manner as if he/she
were in any school situation. Bus rider rules shall be established and given to each student bus rider
at the beginning of the school year. The rules shall be designed basically to promote one thing –
safe transportation.
In cases when a student fails to conduct him/herself properly on the bus, such misconduct shall be
dealt with in accordance with established bus discipline procedures. Where continuing or extremely
serious problems exist, the student's bus riding privileges may be suspended. Proper notification of
parents/guardians and due process shall be given, consistent with legal requirements.
