This weekend is in honor of Sophia, Divine Wisdom, and also focuses upon the
significance of the end of the Maya calendar on 21 December 2012. Sophia is “the
woman clothed with the Sun,” who is the bearer of Cosmic Wisdom that offers a
key to understanding the present time. We shall look at the relationship of Sophia
to Anthroposophy. And to understand the end of the Maya calendar, we shall turn
to the realm of astronomy, recognizing the interrelationships of the heavenly
bodies to one another as an outer expression of the being of Sophia. We shall also
explore how Anthroposophy looks to the deeds of the spiritual hierarchies not only
in the work of creation but also in the shaping of human destiny. Lastly, we shall
consider Russian Sophiology, which is focused upon the question: What is Sophia’s
relationship to the Holy Trinity?
In this workshop we shall take account of different levels of the being of Sophia,
approaching Sophia on a spiritual and a soul level, seeking to penetrate the weaving
of the spiritual hierarchies in service of Sophia as the Soul of the World. And we
shall also consider the relationship of Sophia to the Archangel Michael, whose
festival we are celebrating this weekend. We shall also endeavor to penetrate to
an understanding of the present world situation with the help of star wisdom
in the light of Sophia, Divine Wisdom, who in the Revelation to John is
referred to as the “Bride of the Lamb”.
About Robert Powell, PhD: Robert is an internationally known
lecturer, author, eurythmist and cosmologist. He is founder of the
Choreocosmos School of Cosmic and Sacred Dance and co-founder
of the Sophia Foundation of North America. He received his
doctorate for his thesis on the History of the Zodiac, and he is on the
adjunct faculty of Wisdom University. His published works include:
