Please clearly indicate if your books are for display only and not for sale. 9 Directions and parking information for Bowdoin College Bowdoin is located in Brunswick, Maine, a midcoastal town of 21,500 people, 25 miles from Portland and about 120 miles from Boston. Where to Park: Bowdoin College has made available two parking lots for use during the conference. Attendees may park at the Stowe House or McLellan Building parking lots. These lots are a five and ten minute walk respectively. Stowe House is located at 63 Federal Street. From Maine Street, turn left on to Bath Road, near a large UCC Church. At the stop light (Federal Street), turn left. The Stowe House parking lot is approximately 1/4 mile down on your right. To find the McLellan Building from Maine Street, turn right across from the large UCC Church on to Noble Street. Turn right at the stop sign on to Union Street. The McLellan Building is your next right, 85 Union Street. If you are arriving from 295, via Pleasant Street, you can turn right at Union Street (the stop light near the large Catholic Church). The McLellan Building will then be approximately 1/2 mile on your left. Parking permits are not required. Additional limited guest parking is available in the lots on North and South Campus Drive (vehicles may be towed from the circles at the ends of North and South Campus Drive — these circles are fire lanes), behind Druckenmiller Hall, at Farley Field House, and in the Coffin Street lot. Public parking is allowed on Park Row in designated spots on the east side of the roadway. Parking is not allowed on either side of College Street, nor is it allowed on the south side of South Street. Car Pooling Car pooling is recommended since there are a limited number of parking spaces available on the Bowdoin campus. By Car To reach Brunswick from the south, take the Maine Turnpike to Exit 52 (formerly Exit 9; 295 to Coastal Route 1). Continue on 295 to Exit 28 (formerly Exit 22; Rt. 1 North: Coastal Route, Brunswick / Bath). Continue on Route 1 North / Pleasant Street to the third traffic light. Go straight (“To 201 / 123 / 24 / Maine Street”). Continue straight for approximately 1/2 mile to the second traffic light. Turn right on Maine Street. Continue on Maine Street for approximately 1/2 mile. To reach Brunswick from the north via the Maine Turnpike, take exit 103 (formerly exit 14), then I-295 to Exit 28 (formerly Exit 22; Topsham-Brunswick, Route 1 North). Proceed as above. The Bowdoin campus begins at the intersection of Maine Street and Bath Road, near a large UCC Church. 10 By Bus Greyhound/Vermont Transit from Brunswick Concord Trailways from Bath and Brunswick. By Plane The Portland International Jetport which is served by Business Express (Tel: 207-773-1640) Continental Express Delta Airlines Independence Air Northwest US Air United Airlines. Mermaid Transportation Co., Inc. provides daily service to and from the Portland Jetport and Boston’s Logan Airport. Coastal Transportation provides limited door-to-door bus service and a shuttle bus service operates in between Bath-Brunswick-Topsham. Rental cars are available at the airport (Avis, Budget, Hertz and National), and in Brunswick (Enterprise) and other regional locations. Private airports in Bowdoinham and Wiscasset offer charter flights and service to small, commuter planes. By Train Rail service to Portland Maine via Boston is provided by the Downeaster Amtrak Train.
