robust and ever-growing College of Business. In 2012 was awarded a sabbatical to research business
librarians' work with entrepreneurs, as part of the Emerald Business Research Grant Award I received
that year. A major accomplishment in 2013 was chairing and planning the BRASS 25th Anniversary
celebration. In 2014, I initiated and coordinated, with a team of colleagues, CSU Libraries'
participation in MoneySmart Week programming.

Statement of Professional Concerns/Aspirations if Elected:
I have been involved with BRASS since 2005, when I began my career as a business librarian.
BRASS has been and is incredibly rewarding to me in many ways, from professional development to
the fantastic network of business librarians to the amazing programs and events at Annual. My
involvement with BRASS includes serving as a member and as chair on various committees. One of
my most rewarding experiences was serving as chair of the 25th anniversary planning committee in
2013 and bringing together current and former members of BRASS for a great celebratory evening. It
would be an honor to serve as BRASS Chair and contribute further to this wonderful organization of
smart and talented business librarians.

Statement of Professional Concerns/Aspirations if Elected:
Through both elected and appointed positions in BRASS, I have been privileged to contribute to the
exceptional achievements of my colleagues in timely programming; using online tools for
professional development and governance; and building collaborations with vendors that enable
BRASS to fund travel awards for new and soon-to-be librarians, professional achievement awards,
and educational events. The 2014 BRASS Preconference Workshop, “How Business Librarians
Support Entrepreneurs,” powerfully demonstrated that as we meet the current explosion of
entrepreneurial information needs, we are unquestionably all in this together—public, academic, and
special librarians alike. As BRASS Representative to RUSA’s Budget and Finance and Planning and
Organization Committees, I have gained insights into the “big picture” of how BRASS functions as a
section within our parent organizations. I am deeply humbled to have been nominated; if elected, I
will apply my accumulated knowledge and experience to lead BRASS with creativity, diligence, and
enthusiasm.
