Hello from sunny Florida - Gulf Streamers International RV Club

Hello from sunny Florida! We left Canada on November 3 rd with Ann & Don and traveled to
Frostproof FL. The first night we stayed at the Flying J in Carmel Church VA. The second night we
camped at the Stagecoach RV Park in St. Augustine FL. It is a great place to stop on the way to and
from destinations further south. We then spent a few nights at Disneyworld at the Beach Club Villas
before going on to spend a week at Tropical Palms in Kissimmee with friends. That is a wonderful
campground on Route 192 east of Disneyworld. We arrived at Rainbow Resort in Frostproof on
Nov. 15th.
In December Ann had a problem with her health so we had to leave a few days early to drive to
Canada for Christmas. We spent a week at home in Courtice and then drove to Montreal to spend
Christmas with Don and Ann’s daughter Kim and their son Bob and his family. Granddaughters
Elizabeth, Catherine and Stephanie were happy to see us all and we had a great visit. We then
returned to Courtice to enjoy more time with Kevin and his family, who live down the street. There
we enjoyed playing with Emilee and Lucas. Amanda joined us Jan 1st and we had a very nice New
Year’s Day.
After several medical appointments, all was well and we drove back to the warm weather in Florida
in mid-Jan. We went back to Disneyworld in February to visit their friends from Lancaster. On the
15th of February, Ann organized a reunion with 12 couples who used to camp together in Wauchula.
This year five of these couples were together here at Rainbow, while five other couples were at
different campgrounds near Bowling Green and two traveled from a few hours north of us.
We will be leaving Rainbow Resort on Feb. 28th and going over to Cocoa to see Les & Jean
Potteiger. Ann & Don were planning to attend several rallies with us this summer; due to the
economic situation, however, the rallies have all been canceled. The only rally this year is to Alaska
and they cannot be away that long in the summer, so they are leaving us with Les & Jean so that we
can have a chance to go to Alaska. They will miss us and hope to see us again at the next Back
Home Rally.
Mileage from Nov. 3rd 2008 until Feb. 28th 2009 was 8,159 miles for a total with Ann & Don of
9,952 miles.
Safe travels and love to all,
Sun E., Rosie and Dee Cee
