Elena Fajt is a textile artist and costume designer from Slovenia. She is currently a
visiting artist at Rosemont College in Philadelphia. For last five years she has been
working on the project ‘Hairsense’ in which she explores human hair in artistic and
cultural sense and – combining with other materials like glass, cloth, wool, pins, plants makes different art objects and installations out of it. An award-winning costume
designer trained in traditional and emerging clothing and textile and materials,
techniques and styles, Fajt has shown her work in the contexts of fashion, theatre,
performance, and contemporary art. Fajt has exhibited in Slovenia and other European
countries – Austria, Denmark, France, Germany and Italy. In addition, she has designed
costumes for theatres in Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Italy and Iceland.
