Highlights

10.30 Under the bridge towards Acorn and met M who has been on the streets for about four weeks after breaking up with his partner. He has a bed for the night but will be in town till about 3am. He didn't want food or any blankets but we will get him a coffee.

1.50 Called to the Viper Rooms to a guy in full dinner jacket who was reluctant to have our help as all he needed was to get to the Travel Lodge. He was very drunk and incredibly

embarrassed by it all. He let us walk him there. We found homeless L in a door way near

Kingsgate in his sleeping bag. He was initially unresponsive but then began to talk and told us he was alright although he had been drinking. We left him with some water and will check on him during the course of the evening.

3.05 Clarence Street - a 22 year old guy asked for some lollies and we started talking. He was brought up in a Christian family but rejected it age 13. We talked about faith and the need to have a moral compass.

3.12 Up towards Pryzm and met G who is sitting on the roadside. She has been homeless for many years but is hoping from Monday to go to the Guildhall to see someone who will help her find somewhere. She needs a sleeping bag. We went back to URC to get one.

3.20 By Santander we spoke to a boy who had been waiting for a bus for about an hour and

was frozen so we gave him a space blanket.

3.35 Just given the sleeping bag to G who plans to sleep out on the Memorial Gardens tonight. Saw homeless L still sitting huddled up on the pavement. He was clutching a £5 note and money was scattered on the floor in front of him. We urged him to put the money somewhere safe. We wrapped him up again and left.

3.53 HSCB - saw a guy sitting on a bench with his sock and shoe off. He had a severe blister on his foot so we gave him a plaster and he was quite content with that.

3.55 Heals - we were hailed to a girl who said her friend had fallen and had hit his head badly and was bleeding from his ears. They had called an ambulance which would be 60

minutes. We checked him out. He has been very sick and we put space blankets around him. We contacted the Safe and Sound medics.

4.10 An ambulance arrived from Safe and Sound and two medics have taken control.

4.15 At KURC church, there was a couple sitting in a door way and the girl was very hungry.

We managed to find a large bag of crisps and gave them to her which cheered her up.

Saturday

10.15 We walked up to Safe and Sound and had a look round. It looks really organised. We then went through the Market Place and saw a group of youngsters and gave out lollies.

There was one boy with a bloody finger. We gave him a plaster as it was bleeding profusely.

11.25 We have just met two homeless people, a young man, 18/20, and an older woman, late 30s, dressed up with tinsel round their necks and very much worse for wear and quite intoxicated. We sat them down and gave them both a bottle of water.

12.55 Clarence Street - spoke to three ladies who were walking barefoot in tattered tights so we gave out flip flops.

2.15 We have given out 12 pairs of flip flops and had some great conversations by being there at the right time.

3.00 We were called by CCTV to the Viper Rooms to attend to a young lady whose phone had died and had no money to get a taxi home. We took her over to Safe and Sound where one of the ambulance crew had a charger which matched hers. She was able to phone for a taxi. Left her there having a cup of tea and she thanked us profusely. We went on to the

Hippodrome and handed out lollipops to some young men which caused some interest and broke up an angry party.
