CHEMICAL PRECAUTIONS
 Refer to MSDS for specific precautions related to compressed gases, flammable or
toxic chemicals used.
 Inspect drain system regularly; empty waste container frequently when using
organic solvents.
 Never use a solvent with an autoignition temperature <110oC or a boiling point
<30oC.
 Never clean a flowcell by forcing solvents through a syringe, which may cause
syringe to leak or rupture.
 Ensure adequate ventilation if using dangerous liquids. Solvent vapours may come
from leaking joints. Wear goggles, impermeable gloves and use caution when
loosening joints to avoid generating solvent spray.
 Clean spills promptly according to appropriate spill procedure.
ELECTRICAL/FIRE PRECAUTIONS
 Switch off power and disconnect line cord before performing maintenance.
 Do not restrict air intake or exhaust at the back of the instrument
UV PRECAUTIONS
 Wear UV blocking eye protection when aligning or changing UV lamps.


Follow all guidelines for safe use of radioactive materials.
Use a heavy-walled flask if vacuum is used to de-gas solvents.
Do not run the pump head dry; severe damage can result.
The working pressure of the column should not exceed that recommended.
