The Pharmisense staff have been celebrating their first anniversary and Dr Lynch from Adelaide
Street Family Practice came along to oversee the cutting of the cake.
The in-surgery pharmacy has proved to be a real hit with patients - not just from Adelaide Street
- but from Harris Medical Centre and other surgeries around Blackpool too.

Introduction to Pharmisense
Here at Pharmisense, we have our professional and dedicated team, whose primary focus is to
help, you the patient, get the most out of the pharmacy.
We continually strive for excellence in the services we deliver and we aim to help every patient
with all their medication needs.
As we are located within a GP surgery, we are able to maintain close links with the doctors and
reception staff here, to provide a continuity of care that few pharmacies can offer

health services is available around the clock from NHS direct.

Collection and Delivery Service
At Pharmisense we know that it is not always easy to get to the doctors and the pharmacy to
process and collect your repeat prescriptions.
For this reason we can collect your prescription from the doctors, prepare it in our pharmacy and
deliver it to your door at a convenient time. This is a completely FREE service, and really easy to
set up. All you need to do is call in to see us or give us a call.

Have you ever forgotten to take your medication on time? If we’re honest, I think we all have. At
pharmisense, we can offer a service that we are really excited about.
We can send a reminder to your phone via text message that tells you when your medication is
due to be taken.

Medicine Use Review
Medicine Use Review and New Medicine Service
Our medicine use review and new medicine services are free services that each patient is entitled
to. It is designed to help you get the most out of your medicines. It gives you a chance to ask
questions about your treatment that you don’t normally get a chance to ask. It aims to give you
an understanding about the medicines you take each and every day.
Our medicine use review service looks at all the medications that you take and is available to all
our regular patients.
The new medicine service is available to all patients presenting to us with a prescription for a
medication that you have never taken before. If you feel that either of these services would be of
benefit to you, or you require more information, please feel free to ask a member of staff.

Compliance Aids
Compliance Aids
Here at Pharmisense, we understand that it can be difficult for some people to manage their
medication, especially if you have to take lots of different tablets or you can’t read the labels
very clearly. If you have issues such as these, please feel free to tell us about them and let us help
you as best we can.
We offer helpful services such as weekly trays with the tablets arranged into the correct time for
the correct day.
We can also offer large print labels to help with reading if the normal printed labels are too small
for you to see clearly. Please feel free to ask about these completely FREE services.

Our aim is to provide the highest possible standard of service. We would like you to tell us what
you think about the service we provide at this pharmacy. If you have anycomments, suggestions
or complaints, please speak to a member of staff.
We welcome all comments that can help us improve our service. We operate a complaints
procedure as part of the NHS system for dealing with complaints. Our system meets national
criteria. Our staff will give you further information.

Patient Advice and Liason Service (P.A.L.S )
You may also seek advice from the local Patient Advice and Liason Service (PALS). PALS are
not part of the complaints procedure itself but they might be able to resolve your concerns
informally or they can tell you more about the complaints procedure and independent complaints
advocacy services.

Your Information
Our computer allows us to keep records of all your prescriptions dispensed by us. This helps us
check for possible problems, such as reactions between medicines and will help us deal with any
queries you may have. We comply with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code of practice on
confidentiality
