The Department of Economics has put together a list of courses for your Econ Concentration. If you would like to discuss
your professional, personal, or educational goals please schedule a meeting with your Concentration Exploration Advisor.
During your first semester in the program you must declare your concentration and submit a Concentration Elective Approval
form to your advisor.
The form is due no later than the second week of your first semester in the program.
Prior to taking any concentration courses students must have completed ISDS513 or equivalent with a “B” or better.
Students who have completed an undergraduate degree in Economics may want to speak with the Concentration Exploration
Advisor about additional course options.
Choose & Mark a Maximum of “FOUR” Electives
The concentration consists of 12 units or four electives from the same thematic discipline. Courses are chosen from the
provided list. Two courses must be at the 500 level and no more than two courses may be at the 400 level. No course
numbered below 400 may be used.

Internship Option (Fin495)
 By choosing Plan A you understand that you will only need to complete three electives throughout the
Intersession, Spring, and Fall semesters and your Internship course will be your fourth elective in the
summer (no additional fees).
 By choosing Plan B you understand that you will “NOT” enroll in Fin495 or complete an elective in
summer; however, you will enroll in two elective in Fall (no additional fees).
