End marks are used to indicate the end of sentences.
Use a period at the end of all declarative sentences, most imperative sentences, and most indirect
questions.
Declarative sentence
Japan is a country of islands.
Imperative sentence

Indirect questions

Use a period after an abbreviation of an initial
