1. C.V., including list of publications.
2. Reprints/preprints of your two most important journal articles, if applicable.
3. Academic transcripts for each year of undergraduate/graduate studies.
4. Detailed summary of the proposed research project (max. 2 ppg., including
figures).
5. Chemical Biology can be defined as the design, identification and
exploitation of novel small molecules as tools to investigate questions in
biology. Please provide a 200-word paragraph explaining how your research
project fits into this theme.
Body of Application (append to preceding cover page)
On additional pages provide the following (please read the instructions
carefully):
1. Description of Research Proposal (max. 2 single-spaced pages of text, plus
max. one additional page containing figures and references).
Outline the background of your proposal (significance and state of knowledge to date),
the experimental design and the methods to be used for data collection and analysis. The
proposal should illustrate the relevance of the project for training in the discipline and
research methods of Chemical Biology (see also 2 below).
Include also the following additional information where relevant:
For renewal applications, include a description of progress made on the project
during the period of previous Scholarship support; the Proposal can be expanded
to 2-1/2 pages to include this additional information.
For applications seeking a higher funding level as inter-laboratory
collaborations:
 the Proposal may be expanded to 2-1/2 pages;
 the Proposal must include a clear description of the components of the
research to be pursued in each laboratory and must demonstrate
concretely that the proposed (or current) collaboration will comprise an
extensive and integral part of the overall research project and will entail
the participation of the directors of both laboratories.
2. Summary Statement of Relevance to Chemical Biology (200 words max.):
Chemical Biology can be defined as the design, identification, and the
exploitation of novel small molecules as tools to investigate questions in biology.
Explain succinctly how your research project fits into this theme (and hence into
the training goals of the program).
3. Appendixes:
a. A CV, including a list of publications.
b. A complete copy of your academic transcripts, including GPA's for each
year of undergraduate/graduate studies.
