NEWSLETTER
March 2015
Red Nose Day – Friday 13th March 2015
We are once again supporting this event and would like to invite everyone to come to nursery in fancy
dress on this day. Donations can be made in the classrooms, all fundraising will be sent to Comic Relief,
which is raising money to help people here in the UK and Africa.
Sainsbury’s Vouchers
Thank you for the vouchers that have been handed in so far – please keep them coming in! The box for
the vouchers is allocated just in the hallway near the office.
Children’s Details
We are currently in the process of updating all the children’s details. If your child attends another setting
we would very much like to know, this always helps when children talk about the different places they
have been visiting during their week.
Payments
Thank you to everyone for switching their payments to online banking and card payment, it has been a
great help.
Drop-Off/Collection Times
May we take this opportunity to remind you about dropping off early or picking up late. We staff the
classrooms according to the number of children we have booked in at the start of each session. When
children are dropped off 10 minutes early it may make our staff ratio under the required regulations.
Similarly if you are late when collecting, often staff have to work later. For these reasons we have to
make a charge, and we would ask you to show consideration for the staff who often have their own
commitments after work.
Easter Holidays Monday 30th March – Friday 10th April 2015
Easter Holidays will soon be open us. Holiday club forms will soon be available should you wish to book
in any sessions. Please note Nursery will be closed Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Scarlet Fever
We have had 3 confirmed cases of scarlet fever within the nursery. The number of cases of this illness is
currently on the increase. For further information regarding symptoms to look out for please see
http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Scarlet-fever/Pages/Introduction.aspx. If you are in any doubt please seek
advice from your GP. In order to minimise the risk of spreading further we have deep cleaned the
affected classrooms and sterilised all toys, equipment, surfaces, along with washing all clothes, materials
etc. We have been in close contact with the Health Protection Agency regarding this matter.
Summer Menu
We are beginning to think about our new menu for the Summer Term. We would be pleased to receive
any suggestions from parents and carers on ideas of meals for lunch or tea that the children may enjoy.
