One of our nation’s oldest zoos (opened in 1872), Roger Williams Park Zoo is an integral part
of southern New England’s history and heritage, bringing excitement and discovery of the natural
world to generations of visitors.
Situated within Providence’s historic and beautiful Roger Williams Park, the Zoo is home to well
over 100 species of rare and fascinating animals from all over the world.
Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular—Join your family and friends in this amazing experience: a
nighttime display of 5000 illuminated jack-o-lanterns all along the beautiful Wetlands Trail with
well over 100 of the pumpkins carved into veritable works of art!

The Zoo is home to many endangered species and participates in cooperative conservation and breeding
programs to help ensure their future survival.
Admission to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular
Enjoy such childhood favorites, Halloween scenes and the show’s dazzling grand finale—the Laughing
Tree. Hundreds of glowing jack-o-lanterns on the group and high up in the trees surround carved giants
(well over 1000 pounds) arrayed in the forefront with spooky fog and the now iconic musical theme
punctuated by a catchy beat and laughter.
