OBJECTIVE: To research one of the cultural icons of the Civil Rights movment. Share
this research with the rest of the class.
ASSIGNMENT:
 Research the assigned person of the Civil Rights movment. Please stay away
from using Wikipedia.
 Write an original biography of the person. This must not be plagiarized. This
biography must include facts about his or her early life, reasons they were famous
(or important) in the civil rights movement, and information about their death. If
the person was a famous artist or musician, please include their famous works. I
would suggest using a word document to write this biography. This biography
must be at least 3 paragraphs in length. Punctuation and spelling will be
corrected.
 Post this information on Mr. Weber’s Blog.
 Please include the URL from which you gathered much of your information.
When you “Add a comment” there is a spot to copy and paste the URL.
 In addition, email a photo of your person to Mr. Weber at nweber@esu4.org. If
you do not have an email address, please have someone else in the class help you
with this part of the assignment. Mr. Weber will be posting these pictures on the
blog, so they must be digital pictures.
 Total assignment is worth 50 points. The blog biography is worth 40 points and
the digital photo is worth 10 points.
 Each student will share some information in class about their subject.
